Understand RomaniaSomewhat surprisingly, the Wasted Ego EP is Ionut Arapu's first 12" of the year. 2017 has been a quiet year for the normally prolific producer, who initially rose to prominence via well-regarded releases on Vant, Liniar [sic], Movida and Pressure Traxx. Predictably, both tracks on this vinyl return are rock solid club cuts. On the A-side you'll fine "Virgo Ego", a warm, rolling and bass-heavy early morning tech-house jam that makes great use of quirky spoken word samples and trippy electronic effects. Arguably even better is flipside "Wasted", where lilting chords and repetitive vocal snippets wrap themselves around a typically dense and percussive groove.
