Still basking in the positive reviews that poured in for his recent debut album "Luminous Air", Simon Keat brings his Reedale Rise project to Subwax's Excursions offshoot for the very first time. Warm, melodious and far-sighted dancefloor futurism is the game, with the Liverpool producer playing it like a pro. Check out the gently pulsing acid lines, starry-eyed chords and bubbling deep electro vibes of "Tranquille" and the riff-heavy rhythmic snap of "Nocturnalism". There's much to get the juices elsewhere across the EP, though, with the deep chords, life-affirming futurist electronics and bustling breakbeats of "Araya" hitting home particularly hard. In a word: superb.
