 Berlin based Brit Ewan Smith aka Youandewan follows up the inauguration of his first imprint The Brane with his second imprint called Small Hours. The inaugural release here is a great snapshot of Berlin's sound of now, with these fellow expats from both sides of the Atlantic giving their take on new wave retro-techno - formerly of a deep house state of mind. Smith teams up with Los Angeleno Steve Huerta, who is fresh off a great release on Slow Life on the spacey minimal funk of "Who R U", Galdoors main man Junes comes off sounding far less arcane than usual on the quirky blip, blurp and bleep of "Park & Ride" and Gene On Earth gets even more out there on the all analogue IDM madness of "Dr Drago".
